Corps Members Urged To Develop Business Sense

Ten corps members selected from the over 100 participants in the ongoing 2023 Batch C stream I National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the Calabar orientation camp have received between N25,000 and N50,000 Stability and Sustenance business grants.

The Stability and Sustenance grant is the brainchild of Melody Okwuazu, the entrepreneur-missionary, who has championed youth entrepreneurship, training and skills monetization across Nigeria and beyond.

Okwuazu admonished the corps members to have an entrepreneurship mindset, which would either support their salaries or ensure an independent business success that would make them an employer of labour.

He further advised them to be wise with their decision, while choosing a skill or business line, adding that it was necessary for them to monetise their skills in order for them not to wait for public or private white-collar jobs that were not forthcoming.

Okwuazu and his team were at the Calabar NYSC Camp to continue preaching the gospel of entrepreneurship and skills acquisition as a complementary pathway to achieving business success beyond academic certificates.
